Hundreds marched from Manchester Crown Court to sit in protest at Victoria Station, condemning British Transport Police (BTP) and gender-critical lobbyists \u2013 for spreading \u201chateful attitudes\u201d.<\/p>\n
On Saturday 3 May, Manchester Trans Liberation Assembly led around 500 people in shaming BTP for changing its strip-search policy \u2013 just 24 hours after the Supreme Court ruled on the definition of a woman.<\/p>\n
Director of Innovation at Birmingham Pride, Eva Echo questioned if the judgement was really for the greater protection of women \u2013 people like Wayne Couzens don\u2019t need to be trans and don\u2019t pretend to be, she said.<\/p>\n
Echo claimed: \u201cIt\u2019s really unjust, you could even go as far as saying an absolute miscarriage of justice.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re the guinea pigs.\u201d<\/p>\n
Spokesperson for the Socialist Worker Party, Jasmine Rushby added: \u201cIt was quite for easy for trans people to feel powerless following the ruling.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following celebrations from gender-critics like JK Rowling, trans advocacy groups are calling for \u201ccold-turkey\u201d boycotts of Harry Potter and asking inclusive organisations to \u201cstep up\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Warning how \u201cdetrimental\u201d the ruling\u2019s impact could be, Echo said: \u201cFrom a kid\u2019s point of view, they just want to exist.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf it\u2019s based on perception, that opens the door to abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n
BTP stated: \u201cWe have advised our officers that any same sex searches in custody are to be undertaken in accordance with the biological birth sex of the detainee.\u00a0<\/p>\n
