The latest weather maps suggest 13 counties could see a spell of snow and frost moving in from around 3pm on Tuesday, lasting until about 9pm on Wednesday<\/p>\n

Snow could hit parts of England and Scotland in just a few days’ time, new weather<\/a> maps show, as the Met Office<\/a> warns of a cooler spell with thunder and overnight frosts.<\/p>\n

The maps from WXCharts, which uses MetDesk data, suggest bands of snow<\/a> will move into parts of Scotland by 3pm on Tuesday (May 12) before spreading more widely on Wednesday (May 13).<\/p>\n

By midday on Wednesday, the maps indicate snow sweeping into higher parts of North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, as well as County Durham – including Harrogate and Darlington – and further east towards Newcastle and Durham. In Scotland<\/a>, snow could appear in the Highlands, Argyll and Bute, Perth and Kinross, Stirling and surrounding higher inland areas, according to the maps.<\/p>\n

Further south, parts of northern England – including Blackpool, Preston and Blackburn – are likely to see heavy rain instead, according to the maps.<\/p>\n

Temperatures are expected to be near freezing in parts of Scotland by around 6am on Wednesday, with lows of between 3C and 7C across much of England.<\/p>\n
