But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lefigaro.fr\/vox\/politique\/stature-presidentielle-la-chute-significative-d-edouard-philippe-a-un-an-de-l-election-20260507\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more recent polling<\/a> suggested his lead over former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and conservative leader Bruno Retailleau was narrowing.
