Comment your opinion below<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clarke is not the highest paid member of McKenna\u2019s side, with that honour jointly going to Leif Davis and Dara O\u2019Shea.<\/p>\n<p>The pair are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capology.com\/club\/ipswich-town\/salaries\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">paid<\/a> \u00a335,000 per week, while a number of players are receiving \u00a330,000 per week from the newly-promoted side.<\/p>\n<p>That included Ashley Young, who has announced his retirement from the game, as well as Azor Matusiwa and Ben Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, George Hirst, Christian Walton and Darnell Furlong are all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capology.com\/club\/ipswich-town\/salaries\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">paid<\/a> \u00a327,500-a-week.<\/p>\n<p>                        Sheffield United\u2019s top earners<\/p>\n<p>        <img width=\"1650\" height=\"928\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Japhet Tanganga\" data-img-url=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/copy-of-flw-169-image-2026-02-13t144653-389.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/copy-of-flw-169-image-2026-02-13t144653-389.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p> Sheffield United endured a disappointing campaign, with Chris Wilder\u2019s side coming 13th in the table just 12 months after losing the play-off final to Sunderland.<\/p>\n<p>The Blades will be targeting a more sustained promotion push next season, with a left-winger on the agenda ahead of the transfer window opening next month.<\/p>\n<p>While it remains to be seen whether Clarke can be convinced to join, the Yorkshire outfit will be busy planning for the season ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Their top earner is currently Japhet Tanganga, with the defender arriving last summer on a deal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capology.com\/club\/sheffield-united\/salaries\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">worth<\/a> \u00a335,000 per week.<\/p>\n<p>A number of players are also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capology.com\/club\/sheffield-united\/salaries\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">receiving<\/a> \u00a330,000 per week from the Yorkshire outfit, which is the kind of figure Clarke might be expecting as part of a potential move.<\/p>\n<p>Those players include Gus Hamer and Patrick Bamford, as well as the departing Tom Davies and Danny Ings.<\/p>\n<p>Clarke might have his sights set on competing in the Premier League next season with Ipswich, but he started just 23 of his 46 appearances in the Championship this year.<\/p>\n<p>This has called into question his future at Portman Road, as he could fall even further down the pecking order of McKenna\u2019s squad over the summer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jack Clarke was an instrumental figure in Ipswich Town\u2019s promotion success this season.
