Leeds take on Tottenham in North London on Monday.

Farke has joined a significant group in Leeds history

That outcome means Farke has now achieved something only a handful of Leeds managers have done across the club’s top-flight history. Survival after promotion has never been guaranteed at Elland Road.

GIVE DANIEL FARKE A NEW DEAL, NOW!

Leeds United are mathematically safe from relegation.

Marcelo Bielsa was the last manager to do it before Farke, while Howard Wilkinson, Allan Clarke, Eddie Gray, Don Revie, Raich Carter, Dick Ray and Arthur Fairclough also managed the feat while in charge.

Some of those names transformed the club completely. Others stabilised Leeds during difficult periods, but all of them succeeded where many promoted sides have failed by ensuring the club established itself in the top division.

Promotion was always the immediate target when Daniel Farke was appointed, but staying in the Premier League is what ultimately defines whether a promoted side has truly progressed.

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES

Farke deserves credit because Leeds did not survive through momentum alone. The German manager adapted his approach during the season and accepted that pragmatism mattered more than style during a relegation battle.

That flexibility became increasingly important as the pressure grew during the final weeks of the campaign. Leeds were not always convincing, but they consistently found enough results to stay alive.

Farke’s achievement should not be underestimated

Leeds have spent much of the last two decades outside the Premier League, which makes survival after promotion especially important for the club’s long-term direction. One successful season can change expectations, recruitment plans and financial stability.

Who starts if Leeds are without Struijk, Gudmundsson and Okafor?

Struijk is a doubt, but Gudmundsson and Okafor are out.

Farke is not being placed alongside Don Revie or Howard Wilkinson in terms of legacy or achievement, but this survival campaign has earned him a legitimate place in an important conversation about Leeds managers who successfully rebuilt the club in the top flight.

The circumstances were different for every manager on that list, but the challenge remained the same. Promotion creates optimism, while survival proves a team actually belongs in the division.

Arsenal provided the final result Leeds needed on Sunday, but Leeds earned survival across the season itself. That is why Farke’s achievement matters, and why his place in Leeds United history is now secure.

Join Our Newsletter

Receive a digest of our best Leeds content each week direct to your mailbox

Add as preferred source on Google Arsenal’s 1-0 win over West Ham confirmed Leeds United’s Premier League survival,…

[8814
748,1385,35257,393,4884,1860,23345,16,15
0":"post-951290","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-leeds","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-daniel-farke","10":"tag-eddie-gray","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-leeds","14":"tag-marcelo-bielsa","15":"tag-uk","16":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
