Barton Hill ABC, proudly based at City Academy Bristol, is honoured to celebrate a historic milestone as two of its athletes have been crowned England Boxing National Senior Elite Champions.<\/p>\n

Two boxers from one of Bristol\u2019s most deprived areas won the highest national accolade after being crowned the senior champions of England.<\/p>\n
Yasin Saddiq and Dominic Owoo, who are amateur boxers from Barton Hill ABC, went to the England Boxing National Amateur Championships finals day in Derby, and came away winners and champions in their respective categories.<\/p>\n
Dominic Owoo scored an impressive 5-0 victory over Rotherham-based fighter Carter Gooden in the under 85kg category.<\/p>\n
Yasin Saddiq, fighter in the lighter under-57.5kg category, won a 4-1 victory over Sheffield fighter Mohammad Amin Kadivar.<\/p>\n
Both have won championships and tournaments around Europe in recent years, but to be the amateur English champion is the ultimate honour for an amateur.<\/p>\n
Coaches at Barton Hill Boxing Club said it was a \u2018historic milestone\u2019 for the club and their two fighters. The pair battled through pre-quarter finals in Banbury, and then quarter finals and semi finals in Rotherham earlier last month, before the finals day at the Derby Arena.<\/p>\n

Yasin and Dominic delivered exceptional performances throughout the championships, securing national titles at the highest level of amateur boxing in England,\u201d said a spokesperson for Barton Hill\u2019s coaches Lee, Carlton and Hasan.<\/p>\n

They represented the club, the community, and the sport with distinction,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n \u201cFor a small community club, this achievement carries enormous meaning. It stands as proof of what can be accomplished through hard work, strong guidance, and a supportive environment.
