The operator also added it reflects the growing demand for leisure travel, with most changes affecting weekend services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Passengers will also be able to take advantage of fares being frozen until 2027, ensuring rail travel remains <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.news.yahoo.com\/edinburgh-mum-paid-less-staff-145728876.html\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:affordable;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;affordable&quot;}\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">affordable<\/a> alongside these improvements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">ScotRail&#8217;s Edinburgh to Aberdeen <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.news.yahoo.com\/key-edinburgh-scotrail-routes-replacement-114745998.html\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:route;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;route&quot;}\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">route<\/a> will see an extra journey at 8.05am on Sundays, as well as strengthening of Edinburgh to Helensburgh Central services on Friday and Saturday evenings. More trains will also serve North Berwick on Saturdays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">However, two services on the Borders line will be temporarily withdrawn to allow electrification work along the route to take place:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"mb-4\">\n<li class=\"ml-4 list-disc\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">23.19 from Tweedbank to Edinburgh<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ml-4 list-disc\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">23.44 from Edinburgh to Tweedbank<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Passengers are encouraged to check their journeys on the ScotRail website, mobile app, or through social media channels as train times may have changed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Mark Ilderton, ScotRail Service Delivery Director, said: \u201cWe are introducing a number of timetable changes from Sunday, 17 May, the majority of which are on Saturdays and Sundays to meet the growing demand for leisure travel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThese additional services will provide customers with more choice and flexibility, helping more people travel by rail for leisure, events, and days out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThere are a small number of changes for operational requirements and planned engineering works so the Borders route can be electrified, making rail travel more sustainable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cCustomers should check their regular journeys before travelling, as some train times may have changed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Changes have been made to some Edinburgh train services as part of a major shake-up.
