{"id":952209,"date":"2026-05-11T08:24:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T08:24:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/952209\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T08:24:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T08:24:24","slug":"dudley-woman-joins-study-to-boost-support-for-dementia-carers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/952209\/","title":{"rendered":"Dudley woman joins study to boost support for dementia carers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The impact of dementia on families is profound and this research has really reinforced what we have always tried to do,&#8221; said Dr Sharada Abilash, deputy chief medical officer at Black Country Healthcare NHS Trust.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We want to learn from their experiences and keep improving,&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The trust covers patients across Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Across the Black Country, there are more than 14,200 people living with dementia and one in three people will be touched by dementia in their lifetime as a carer,<a href=\"https:\/\/blackcountry.icb.nhs.uk\/your-health\/health-advice\/dementia\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> data collected by the Black Country Integrated Care Board show., external<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Dawn Brady, activity coordinator at DPH, added: &#8220;I spend a lot of time with families to get to know the patient.
