{"id":952615,"date":"2026-05-11T12:44:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T12:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/952615\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T12:44:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T12:44:13","slug":"three-peregrine-falcon-chicks-hatch-at-st-albans-cathedral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/952615\/","title":{"rendered":"Three peregrine falcon chicks hatch at St Albans Cathedral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Two eggs were laid in the first year of breeding in 2022 and one failed to hatch. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A live webcam was installed in their nest tray the following year, and curiosity in the birds and their growing family has grown ever since, the Trust said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The webcam received more than 500,000 views last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Ellis added: &#8220;[As] the chicks develop and begin to move around more, they may disappear from the view of the webcam from time-to-time, but in all probability they are just exploring the rest of the nest tray.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Very Revd Jo Kelly-Moore, Dean of St Albans Cathedral, said: &#8220;These remarkable birds have become much-loved members of our Cathedral community, and it is a joy to see their family continue to grow year after year.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two eggs were laid in the first year of breeding in 2022 and one failed to hatch.
