{"id":953517,"date":"2026-05-11T22:29:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T22:29:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/953517\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T22:29:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T22:29:15","slug":"bristol-beacon-shines-with-regional-building-of-the-year-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/953517\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol Beacon shines with regional building of the year title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tX<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/full-logo-white.png\" alt=\"The Business Desk\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRegister for free to receive latest news stories direct to your inbox<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/register\/\" class=\"btn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Register<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Bristol Beacon has been named regional building of the year at the 2026 RIBA South West and Wessex Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a3183m restoration project, which transformed the concert hall into a venue to rival other national facilities for amplified and unamplified music, was praised by the jury as a \u201cremarkable civic achievement and a testament to the dedication of a committed client, an exceptional team of architects and engineers, and a city that chose to invest in its cultural future by the reinvention of its past\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The award was announced during a ceremony at Bath Spa University\u2019s Locksbrook Campus.<\/p>\n<p>David Yorke, associate architect at Alec French Architects, said: \u201cWe are proud that the Bristol Beacon has received yet another prestigious award.
