Leeds United extended their long unbeaten run away from home in the Premier League, drawing 1-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to complete the set of weekend fixtures which saw the Whites secure top-flight safety. <\/p>\n
The hosts went ahead just after half-time through Mathys Tel before Dominic Calvert-Lewin smashed home his 14th goal of the season in all competitions from the penalty spot to claim a point. <\/p>\n
Speaking after the match, Daniel Farke gave his thoughts to the media, stating that his team would always put in maximum effort even though they had already confirmed their Premier League status. <\/p>\n
He said: \u201cIf you put the white shirt on and represent this passionate and amazing club, you have all to play for because we represent Leeds United.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to make our supporters proud. And for that, if you are then not highly motivated in a Premier League game, you have chosen the wrong club and I would never allow anything less than just 100 per cent.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think this is also what we have shown today because out of many reasons it was, of course, a difficult game but the big pressure after yesterday\u2019s results was a bit away.<\/p>\n
\u201cTottenham, back in good shape, back-to-back wins. I expected them also to play with confidence. Also, the stadium was on it. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey liked also to have a bit more positivity right now. And for us, it was a difficult week because we had to play today without many key players.\u201d<\/p>\n
The boss was asked directly about what survival means and how proud he is of the team for achieving it with three games to play.<\/p>\n
\u201cPerhaps we should have been on even more points right now but I couldn’t be prouder of my players! And for that, whatever happens, a fantastic achievement. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut exactly what we have shown today, we also want to show this and to spoil our supporters even a bit more in our final home game.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then also, of course, on the final game day, if we can extend our unbeaten run and keep going, would be great.
