Emmerdale confirms Dr Todd’s show future tonight, which will pave the way for a huge blackmail storyline<\/a>. The menacing medic is set to leave the village following her dad’s death \u2013 but not before she raises some funds, by any means necessary.<\/p>\n

In recent episodes, Dr Todd announced she would be retiring from the hospital<\/a>, seemingly putting an end to Jacob Sugden’s bullying ordeal. However, while Jacob tried to make peace with his former mentor, Todd implied she knew a secret that could make his life hell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Viewers know that Todd was referring to Charity Dingle and Ross Barton being baby Leyla’s biological parents, and in tonight’s episode, the shady character decides to capitalise on that information.<\/p>\n

At the shop, Charity is horrified to learn of Todd’s sly remarks and insists Jacob gives her “the widest berth possible”. She tells him to get on with his life and ignore her taunts, and is relieved when Jacob heeds her advice. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Todd and Vanessa Woodfield have their first date in The Woolpack, sparking gossip among the villagers. The doctor tells Vanessa that she’ll take her to a restaurant near Sheffield next time, away from prying eyes.<\/p>\n

“It’s where I grew up… It’s beautiful. It’s my happy place,” she says. “And then this morning, I received a letter to say that I’ve inherited our family home.” <\/p>\n

Todd shares her dream of retiring to the house, though she explains that the large property would “cost a lot to run” and money is “tight” since her divorce. <\/p>\n

Later, Vanessa gently suggests they should just be friends if Todd will be moving away, and though she denies Charity had a part to play in her change of heart, Todd is unconvinced.<\/p>\n

The doctor<\/a> reiterates needing to “raise the funds”, meaning she’ll be sticking around for a while. She keeps one eye on Charity, ominously declaring that she has a plan forming. <\/p>\n

Upcoming episodes will see Dr Todd attempting to blackmail Charity<\/a>, demanding \u00a310,000 to keep her baby secret. How far will Charity go to hide the truth? <\/p>\n
