Xabi Alonso moving to Liverpool this summer is looking less and less likely.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After previous suggestions that he could be on his way to Anfield, Chelsea are open to appointing Alonso as their next manager<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It would leave Liverpool<\/a> with one less high-profile name to target should they decide to move on from Arne Slot<\/a>. However, some fans would be willing to see Sebastian Hoeness come in as the Reds\u2019 next manager.<\/p>\n

If Xabi Alonso goes to Chelsea, who should be Liverpool\u2019s next manager? <\/p>\n

Rousing The Kop asked fans this week if they would be happy to see Hoeness take over from the Dutchman.<\/p>\n

And while other options, such as Luis Enrique, have been discussed by supporters, the general consensus was that Hoeness would be a good appointment.<\/p>\n

One fan wrote: \u201c2 times better than Xabi Alonso. The best replacement for Klopp, a super coach. Put pressure on the fans in the stadium.\u201d<\/p>\n

A second added: \u201cCould be a very very good option he\u2019s tactically very versatile and not stuck on one particular system.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBetter than slot by a mile, playing nice football. 3 or 4 on my list of realistic options,\u201d stated another.<\/p>\n

A fourth suggested: \u201cTake him in a heartbeat @LFC, but we\u2019re gonna stick with Slot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another wrote: \u201cAll for it. As much as I love Xabi, this guy is better fit. Bring him in.\u201d<\/p>\n

A sixth added: \u201cI\u2019d like to see Arne stay and succeed, but if there is to be a change, then for me it\u2019s this guy. I\u2019d be really excited to see what he could do with us,\u201d while another commented: \u201cThis would be a great signing!\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoeness moving to Liverpool<\/a> has been mooted previously, but it remains to be seen if both parties would look at such an appointment.<\/p>\n

The manager has previously had spells in Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig\u2019s youth teams before taking his first senior job at Hoffenheim.<\/p>\n

He is now in charge of Stuttgart, where he has been since 2023, and is having a solid 2025\/26 campaign.<\/p>\n

Hoeness has guided the German side to 29 wins, seven draws and 15 defeats across all competitions, taking them to the DFB Pokal final and into a Champions League spot with one league game still to play.<\/p>\n
