Participants will follow an iconic route that takes in some of the city’s most loved landmarks from Buckingham Palace to St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge.

Cancer Research UK spokesperson for London, Jack Hayes, said:
“Shine Night Walk is an uplifting and unforgettable evening where thousands come together to take on a unique challenge, make memories and make a difference for people affected by cancer. It’s not just the glowsticks and glitter that light up the night, it’s the hope everyone brings.”

“It’s thanks to our supporters that we’ve helped double cancer survival in the UK, over the past 50 years. But with nearly 1 in 2 people set to be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime,* there’s so much more to do. Taking part in Shine Night Walk could help fuel faster progress. Every step helps create a brighter future – one where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.”

Cancer Research UK has led the development of chemotherapy and
radiotherapy, paved the way for targeted treatments, improved how we
use surgery to tackle cancer and made vital discoveries about how cells
grow and fix their DNA.

People can also play a part in helping to support more life-saving advances like this by volunteering at Shine Night Walk. From helping to set up the course to guiding participants around the city, there are lots of opportunities to get involved, meet new people and learn new skills.

Related

Screenshot PEOPLE across London are being urged to enter Cancer Research UK’s Shine Night Walk and see their…

[7757
748,393,4884,257,16,15
0":"post-955237","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-london","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-england","10":"tag-great-britain","11":"tag-london","12":"tag-uk","13":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
