We picked up a 1-1 draw against a relegation-threatened Tottenham side.

Daniel Farke’s men have been exceptional over the last few months. Even though United are mathematically safe for next season, we delivered another gritty away performance. That was much to the enjoyment of those who made the long trip down from West Yorkshire.

Despite the game being fairly even when it came to who had the better chances, Jamie O’Hara was furious after the game and claimed it was not a good point for Spurs. They now sit two points above the drop zone.

Jermaine Defoe full of praise for Leeds United after Spurs draw

Another former Spurs player was extremely complimentary about the Whites when analysing the game on Monday night.

Jermaine Defoe and Jamie Carragher were on punditry duties for Sky Sports on Monday Night Football. And, Carragher made some sensational claims regarding Leeds and how good we’ve been this season.

Defoe, too, was very complimentary of United’s intensity following the game, despite already being safe, with the former Spurs striker and current Woking manager being extremely complimentary of the job Farke has done in West Yorkshire.

“I spoke about standards and the manager mentioned culture at the football club, everyone’s talking about pulling in the right direction, second half, they were really good.

“They’re a good football team, you know, I don’t think they get enough credit. You speak about Leeds and what they do without the ball and out of possession, but when they get the ball back, and they had to show their quality, they did that. I think they’ve done that throughout the season,” Defoe said.

If Leeds can keep this same elite work ethic and attitude but sprinkle a bit more individual quality into the squad over the summer, then Farke could be on the verge of achieving something very special with Leeds.

Willy Gnonto had an impressive Leeds United cameo against Spurs

With injuries to both Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson, Farke was forced to deploy Dan James as a makeshift right-wing back against Spurs.

Unsurprisingly, the Welshman struggled defensively, but going forward, he was just as ineffective.

Willy Gnonto replaced James in the 63rd minute against Spurs. And although it is clear that the Italian leaves gaps behind him when playing as a wing-back, he certainly made an impression in the final third.

Gnonto was drifting inside and caused issues for Spurs. He played delightful ball through to Sean Longstaff in the dying minutes of the game, and was unfortunate not to get an assist. Longstaff’s stinging effort was tipped onto the bar.

Hopefully for Gnonto’s sake, he gets more opportunities further forward in his more natural position between now and the end of the season. That’s especially so, with there being no risk associated with our last two fixtures.

            100%
Love

            0%
Funny

            0%
Wow

            0%
Sad

            0%
Angry

Leeds United extended their unbeaten away run in the Premier League to seven games.
