For the third year in a row, O\u2019Brien has been tapped to host next year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/oscars\/\" id=\"auto-tag_oscars\" data-tag=\"oscars\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oscars<\/a>. Also back are live TV event producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan as the show\u2019s executive producers for the fourth consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tO\u2019Brien\u2019s producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney will also return as producers as a third time, with Sweeney as weiter. Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy president Lynette Howell Taylor announced the news Tuesday afternoon, tied to the Disney <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/upfronts\/\" id=\"auto-tag_upfronts\" data-tag=\"upfronts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">upfronts<\/a> in New York. The penultimate Academy Awards for Disney, the 99th Oscars are set to air live on ABC and Hulu from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, March 14, 2027, at 7 p.m. ET\/4 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe are thrilled to be working again with Conan, Raj, Katy, Jeff and Mike for the 99th Oscars,\u201d Kramer and Howell Taylor said in a joint statement. \u201cThey are an incredible team and have produced such captivating, entertaining and heartfelt shows over the last two years. We are so grateful for their ongoing partnership as we honor our global film community \u2014 and we look forward to Conan superbly leading the celebration with his brilliance and humor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tO\u2019Brien earned high marks again for his second year hosting the Oscars, back in March. Even a day after the telecast, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/oscar-producers-in-memoriam-explained-conan-obrien-return-1236689787\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Walt Disney TV exec VP, unscripted and alternative entertainment Rob Mills told Variety<\/a> that they were game to bring O\u2019Brien back. After the kudocast ended with a gag that suggested O\u2019Brien was \u201cOscars host for life\u201d (well, at least for its remaining life on ABC), Mills said it wasn\u2019t a joke. Conan is host for life, yes,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cHe hasn\u2019t even accepted yet. He\u2019s just being told. We\u2019re assuming that was not a comedy bit. We\u2019re going to treat that as if that was fact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAnd now it seems like it might indeed be true. O\u2019Brien, of course, hosted the late night talkers \u201cLate Night with Conan O\u2019Brien,\u201d \u201cThe Tonight Show with Conan O\u2019Brien\u201d and \u201cConan,\u201d and now hosts the \u201cConan O\u2019Brien Needs a Friend\u201d podcast and the HBO travel show \u201cConan O\u2019Brien Must Go.\u201d He has won six Primetime Emmys and earned 33 nominations, including a nomination for the Oscars.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cConan has created remarkable energy around The Oscars,\u201d Disney Television Group prexy Craig\u00a0Erwich said in statement. \u201cHis singular comedic voice\u00a0makes Hollywood\u2019s biggest night one of the most entertaining celebrations of the year. We\u2019re proud to welcome him back and look forward to what he and the producing team deliver next.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs for Kapoor and Mullan, Kapoor is an Emmy winner for his work on the 96th Oscars and \u201cAdele: One Night Only,\u201d and has worked on the Grammys, the Emmys, \u201cHannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas,\u201d \u201cBeauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration,\u201d \u201cNorman Lear: 100 Years of Music and Laughter\u201d and \u201cThe Paris Olympics LA28 Handover Closing Ceremony\u201d and more. Mullan is an executive producer, showrunner and partner at Done + Dusted; she also won an Emmy for the 96th Oscars, and has worked on prokects including the London Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, \u201cThe Little Mermaid Live!,\u201d \u201cBeauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration\u201d and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cGetting to reunite with Conan O\u2019Brien for a third year at the\u00a0Oscars\u00a0is really special.
