{"id":955811,"date":"2026-05-12T23:22:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T23:22:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/955811\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T23:22:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T23:22:16","slug":"halesowen-air-cadets-celebrate-growth-and-community-impact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/955811\/","title":{"rendered":"Halesowen Air Cadets celebrate growth and community impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aiir-c-news-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6a03a4bea19c8.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"aiir-c-news-article__abstract\">\n            223 (Halesowen) Squadron has celebrated another successful year of supporting young people, while strengthening its ties within the local community.\n        <\/p>\n<p>The squadron recently held its Annual General Meeting, bringing together volunteers, trustees, and representatives from a range of local organisations to reflect on the past year\u2019s achievements and look ahead to the future.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting highlighted the squadron\u2019s strong community connections, with representatives attending from organisations including the Scouts, a local veterans\u2019 charity, and the Royal British Legion.<\/p>\n<p>During the AGM, the existing trustee team was re-elected, ensuring continuity in the squadron\u2019s governance and support. Councillor Simon Phipps continues as Chair, supported by Steve Hill as Treasurer and Julia Sturman-Sprigg as Secretary. Julia was also appointed as Vice Chair, with Danielle Whitehouse taking on the role of Deputy Secretary.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year, cadets and volunteers from 223 Squadron have been actively involved in a wide range of local events, including the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal,\u00a0Armed Forces Day and\u00a0Halesowen Carnival.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These activities demonstrate the squadron\u2019s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community while providing meaningful experiences for cadets.<\/p>\n<p>The squadron continues to grow, with notable achievements including one cadet being selected as the local Mayor\u2019s Cadet for 2025\/26.
