A MAN abducted and tried to murder his partner days after trying to kill a pedestrian with a motor, prosecutors claim.<\/p>\n
Paul Lyons, 44, is accused of the two kill bids as well as a raft of other charges including road traffic<\/a> offences allegedly carried out while he was banned from driving<\/a>.<\/p>\n Glasgow<\/a> where trial was set for July next<\/a> year.<\/p>\n It\u2019s alleged that on May 4 last year at Broden\u2019s Bar and Kitchen, Main Road, Condorrat, Cumbernauld he assaulted Stephen Kelly by driving a car<\/a> onto the pavement and striking him.<\/p>\n The charge goes on to allege Lyons endangered Mr Kelly\u2019s life, attempted to murder<\/a> him and caused him \u201csevere injury<\/a>, permanent disfigurement and impairment\u201d.<\/p>\n It\u2019s further alleged that on various occasions on May 7 and 8 that year, Lyons abducted Carly Scott after having pursued her in a and collided with a roundabout before allegedly forcing Ms Scott to accompany him to a property<\/a> in Cumbernauld.<\/p>\n He is accused of locking the doors and windows and that he did \u201cprevent her from leaving and detain her there against her will\u201d.<\/p>\n It\u2019s further alleged he repeatedly dragged her and pushed her into a bush, seized her belongings, threw her clothing onto the ground and took her medication from her.<\/p>\n She is further said to have allegedly had earrings yanked from her and been bitten on the head.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMost read in The Scottish Sun\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The charge goes on to allege he did, \u201crepeatedly punch, kick and stamp on her head and body<\/a>, sit on her body, repeatedly seize her by the neck\u201d until she passed out.<\/p>\n Prosecutors allege Lyons also made threats to kill her, held a knife<\/a> against her neck and prevented her from shouting for assistance.<\/p>\n He faces claims of threatening to kill her if she contacted cops<\/a> as well as allegedly leaving her severely injured, permanently disfigured after an \u201cattempt to murder her\u201d.<\/p>\n The alleged offences are said to be \u201caggravated by involving abuse of your partner or ex-partner\u201d.<\/p>\n Lyons faces other charges of theft<\/a>, reset and dangerous<\/a> driving.<\/p>\n The case called for a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday.<\/p>\n Patricia Baillie, defending, said Lyons was pleading not guilty to all the allegations.<\/p>\n She added: \u201cWe are ready for a trial to be
