with organised youth groups beginning in the early 20th century.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Birmingham<\/a>, there has been a <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/revealed-shocking-scale-birmingham-youth-16663873\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">demise in youth facilities<\/a> over the last few decades as centres have been lost, leaving young people without access to vital services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Today, <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/birmingham-city-council\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Birmingham City Council<\/a> runs council-operated youth services from 13 youth centres across Birmingham, with a fourteenth due to open as part of a government initiative in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/birminghams-male-dominated-council-truth-33923456\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Birmingham&#8217;s male dominated council &#8211; the truth about our leaders after local elections 2026<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Operational youth hubs in Birmingham:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\">\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Concord Youth Centre, Sparkbrook<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">E R Mason Youth Centre, Attwood Green<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Lozells Recreation Group, Lozells<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Shard End Youth Centre, Shard End<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">The Factory, Longbridge<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">The Lighthouse, Aston<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">BirminghamLive understands district youth teams are based at four of the Council&#8217;s youth centres &#8211; Concord, The Factory, The Lighthouse and Shard End \u2013 who are also responsible for delivering services at the local centres in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Two youth work sessions per week are currently delivered at the following sites:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\">\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Clifton Road Youth Centre, Sutton Coldfield<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Maypole Centre, Maypole<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Naseby Centre, Alum Rock<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Small Heath Youth Centre, Small Heath<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Soho Youth Projects, Winson Green<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">The Vibe, South Yardley<\/li>\n<li class=\"LiItem_li-item__IF4xI\">Three Estate Youth Work Project Shop, Kings Norton<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">It is understood there are plans to transfer the Naseby Centre and Clifton Road Youth Centre buildings to a third-sector organisation, which will deliver additional services, alongside existing Youth Service sessions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Oakland&#8217;s Young People&#8217;s Centre in Handsworth is part of the Hamilton School redevelopment, and therefore is not currently operational as a youth centre, it is understood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/meet-your-new-birmingham-councillors-33916526\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Every new Birmingham City Council councillor &#8211; full list<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Youth Service is continuing to deliver outreach youth work on the Soho Road on Fridays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Kitts Green&#8217;s The Pump youth facility is also operational but it is now being run by The Pump Trust, a charity at the heart of East Birmingham focusing on supporting the development of all young people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A new <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/birmingham-new-hub-help-youngsters-33776349\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Young Futures Hub<\/a> will also be opening on Cannon Street in August of this year, as part of a government wide initiative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Currently, the new facility, dedicated to providing services across mental health and wellbeing, employment and crime prevention, is open at the Library of Birmingham &#8211;
