Fans of detective dramas<\/a> are being urged to binge a series streaming for free, which viewers “couldn’t stop watching”.<\/p>\n

The police drama, which is one of many partly filmed in Bristol,<\/a> follows various murder investigations based on true events.<\/p>\n

When it initially aired in 2019, it made history as ITV’s <\/a>highest-rated launch of a new drama series since the first season of Broadchurch in 2013.<\/p>\n

The show attracted an average of 8.7 million viewers across the three episodes, and it went on to win two BAFTA Cymru awards.<\/p>\n

Manhunt is the series in question and it stars Martin Clunes as Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton<\/a>, a real-life Senior Investigating Officer.<\/p>\n

Available to stream now on ITVX, the first season was filmed in London and the second season, titled Manhunt: The Night Stalker, was filmed in Bristol.<\/p>\n

In the second instalment, which is set in London, Clunes’ character tracks down a notorious serial burglar and rapist.<\/p>\n

The old Bank of England building next to St Mary le Port Church on Bridge Street was transformed into a London police station for three weeks during filming.<\/p>\n

Other recognisable Bristol locations included A Bond Warehouse on the Floating Harbour and the Lord Mayor\u2019s Reception Room in City Hall.<\/p>\n

Viewers may also recognise the railway arches from Stapleton Road in Easton<\/a>, while other locations included residential streets in Stoke Bishop, Westbury on Trym, Easton, St Paul’s, Henbury and Knowle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Berkeley Square, Victoria Street, Wine Street near Castle Park, Knowle Cricket Club, Henleaze Junior School, St Phillips Causeway and Gloucester Road were also used for filming.<\/p>\n

The detective drama has been hailed “absolutely perfect” by fans(Image: ITV)<\/p>\n

Fans took to IMDb reviews to share their thoughts on the series, with one hailing it “absolutely perfect”, adding: “Manhunt is absolutely perfect and I wish that every true crime drama created in the future would follow this same script and production.<\/p>\n

“Martin Clunes is absolutely wonderful in this role, as both a professional investigator and a family man who is trying hard in both areas.”<\/p>\n

Another viewer called the series “crime drama at its best”, sharing: “It was brilliant even without any extra melodrama and big action sequences. It captured the essence of the horrific crimes and the investigation very well.”<\/p>\n

A third fan admitted: “I had to binge watch it. I couldn’t stop. Knowing it was a true story made me tear up a few times.”<\/p>\n

Clunes himself received plenty of praise, with another fan commenting: “Martin Clunes is unbelievably good. So good to watch him in all his glory. I’m in awe of his versatility and talent.”<\/p>\n
