Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI), one of the UK\u2019s local government pension scheme (LGPS) investment pools, is onboarding 25 new staff, including 15 from Brunel Pension Partnership, as it opens a Bristol office in the next phase of LGPS consolidation driven by the Fit for the Future reforms<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new hires will work across LPPI\u2019s investment, legal, compliance and operations teams, the pool announced.<\/p>\n

Brunel\u2019s chief operating officer, Joe Webster, is also joining LPPI\u2019s executive committee to lead the pool\u2019s technology and data teams as it develops new solutions for partner funds. He follows the appointment of Roelie van Wijk, who recently joined LPPI\u2019s board as a non-executive director.<\/p>\n

The office opening and appointments mark another milestone<\/a> in LPPI\u2019s Fit for the Future process, following the onboarding of six new partner funds, which increased the pool\u2019s assets under management<\/a> to approximately \u00a355bn from 1 April 2026.<\/p>\n

Three of the new roles are in client management to support LPPI\u2019s increase in partner funds: Chris Crozier as senior manager, Bethan Jones as manager, and Alice Spikings as senior associate.<\/p>\n

Last year, LPPI emerged as the leading contender to take on Brunel Pension Partnership\u2019s investment infrastructure<\/a>, formerly used by six of the new funds.<\/p>\n

Chris Rule, chief executive officer at LPPI, said: \u201cBy welcoming our new colleagues and establishing our Bristol office, we are adding to and retaining critical expertise within the LGPS at a crucial time, strengthening our ability to support partner funds across the country.<\/p>\n

Our on-the-ground presence is critical if we are to contribute to the communities and regions we serve.<\/p>\n
