\n\tElon Musk<\/a> has doubled down on dissing Christopher Nolan<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThe Odyssey<\/a>\u201d via new X posts and replies that mock the upcoming tentpole for casting Lupita Nyong\u2019o and Elliot Page, the latter of whom previously worked with Nolan on \u201cInception.\u201d Musk already came out swinging<\/a> against \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d in February amid rumors that Nyong\u2019o would be playing Helen of Troy. <\/p>\n

\n\tA new Time magazine profile of Nolan, published May 12, confirmed that not only is Nyong\u2019o playing Helen of Troy, aka the most beautiful woman in Greek mythology, but the Oscar winner has a surprise second role as Helen\u2019s sister Clytemnestra, who is married to Agamemnon.<\/p>\n

\n\tConservative commentator Matt Walsh used X to insult Nyong\u2019o, writing: \u201cNot one person on the planet actually thinks that Lupita Nyong\u2019o is \u2018the most beautiful woman in the world.\u2019 But Christopher Nolan knows that he would be called racist if he gave\u2019 the most beautiful woman\u2019 role to a white woman. Nolan is technically talented but a coward.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMusk supported Walsh\u2019s opinion, replying: \u201cTrue.\u201d He also wrote on X that Nolan \u201cwants the awards,\u201d which is why he thinks Nolan is changing the races of characters in \u201cThe Odyssey.\u201d Musk was replying to a tweet that noted how the Oscars have representation and inclusion standards when it comes to best picture eligibility, although in actuality, those rules have little to do with casting. Established in 2020, to be eligible for a best picture nomination<\/a> a film must fulfill diversity criteria that includes a combination of casting, subject matter, leadership and departments heads, crew, apprenticeships and\/or audience development. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn additional X posts, Musk re-tweeted posts that mocked Page\u2019s masculinity<\/a> and claimed that Nolan was stomping all over Homer\u2019s grave because of his casting choices.<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in February when Nyong\u2019o\u2019s role was just a rumor, Musk amplified an X user who claimed that it would be \u201can insult\u201d to Homer if the actor plays Helen of Troy because the Greek poet described the fictional character as \u201cfair skinned, blonde, and \u2018the face that launched a thousand ships\u2019 because she was so beautiful that men started a war over her.\u201d Musk\u00a0later commented<\/a>\u00a0on the post: \u201cChris Nolan has lost his integrity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Odyssey\u201d opens in theaters July 17.<\/p>\n
