{"id":957744,"date":"2026-05-13T20:03:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T20:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/957744\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T20:03:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T20:03:14","slug":"steve-backshall-films-with-seahorses-for-wwf-in-weymouth-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/957744\/","title":{"rendered":"Steve Backshall films with seahorses for WWF in Weymouth Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Steve Backshall, best-known for hosting CBBC&#8217;s Deadly 60, joined volunteers of the Seahorse Trust to film content for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The WWF is a leading global environmental charity and as part of its educational outreach is hosting &#8216;Live Lessons,&#8217; of which this filming will be a part of.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Steve Backshall filming in Weymouth (Image: Neil Garrick-Maidment)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The next lesson will be on oceans, guided by Steve Backshall, it will uncover the diverse marine life found in UK waters and around the globe and will investigate life beneath the waves, explore ocean habitats and ecosystems, and gain insight into real-life conservation efforts.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The filming, which will be part of the session, focused on seahorses in Weymouth Bay and during their time out at sea, the crew discovered two which they believed to be a male and female.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Spiny Seahorse (Image: Neil Garrick-Maidment)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Founder and executive director of the Seahorse Trust, Neil Garrick-Maidment was part of the shoot.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He said: &#8220;I have worked with Steve several times before. It was lovely, he is truly a really nice guy.
