\n\tFrench film producer and cinema operator Path\u00e9<\/a> has sold a 20 percent stake as part of a \u201cstrategic partnership\u201d with Merit France, the holding company of the family of French-Lebanese logistics magnate Rodolphe Saad\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\n\tFinancial details of the deal, unveiled on Monday, weren\u2019t disclosed. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAmid a rapidly evolving macroeconomic and industrial landscape rich with opportunity, this transaction is aimed at equipping Path\u00e9 with the resources needed to accelerate its growth \u2014\u00a0particularly in the production of internationally-oriented films and series, as well as the modernization of its cinema network to offer customers a premium, innovative experience unmatched in Europe,\u201d the company said. \u201cThis long-term partnership enables Rodolphe Saad\u00e9 and his family to continue diversifying their assets into the cultural sector.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Monday news of the deal came a day before the 78th edition<\/a> of the Cannes Film Festival<\/a> opens with Path\u00e9\u2019s Am\u00e9lie Bonnin-directed movie Leave One Day, starring Juliette Armanet, Bastien Bouillon, Fran\u00e7ois Rollin, Tewfik Jallab, Dominique Blanc, Mhamed Arezki, Pierre-Antoine Billon, and Amandine Dewasmes. \u201cAs C\u00e9cile prepares to realize her dream of opening her own gourmet restaurant, she must return to her childhood village following her father\u2019s heart attack,\u201d reads a synopsis of the film. \u201cFar from the hustle and bustle of Paris, she encounters her childhood sweetheart again. Memories resurface, and her certainties waver.\u201d<\/p>\n
