Now, film-lovers might be able to make a stop-off at the chain before heading to watch a movie.<\/p>\n<p><a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/costa-coffee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costa<\/a> has announced a new 10-year partnership with Cineworld, which will see the chain take over previously Starbucks-operated sites. The rollout will begin this summer, with the majority of sites expected to open by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Existing staff will be offered the opportunity to retrain in line with Costa\u2019s standards.<\/p>\n<p>The new <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/uk\/2204126\/costa-coffee-sainsburys-supermarket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costa<\/a> stores will have a mix of takeaway and sit-in options, with self-service screens and a dedicated collection area.<\/p>\n<p>Costa Coffee express and corporate sales director UK&amp;I Ander Miller, said that the collaboration enabled the firm to \u201cfurther strengthen our presence within high-footfall leisure environments, aligning with our strategy to meet customers wherever they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cineworld director of retail, Tim Sparrow, added: \u201c<a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/finance\/personalfinance\/2196870\/costa-coffee-introduces-new-rule\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costa<\/a> Coffee is re-energising our coffee spaces and strengthening the role they play in the cinema experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether, we\u2019re focused on quality, consistency and reach, creating warm and welcoming environments that enhance the visit while keeping cinema at the heart of everything we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/uk\/2152757\/costa-crisis-mcdonalds-greggs-pret-cheaper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costa<\/a> first started in 1971 when its founders, Sergio and Bruno, first arrived in London.<\/p>\n<p>In 1978, their demand for coffee grew, so they moved to South London where the brothers transformed a huge plot of grassland into a brand-new roastery.<\/p>\n<p>The new site was located on Old Paradise Street, Lambeth, where the Costa Coffee roastery remained until 2017.<\/p>\n<p>By 1981, the brothers opened their first Costa Coffee shop in Vauxhall Bridge Road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Costa will replace Starbucks in 26 places in the UK as part of a deal with Cineworld.
