Scottish Water is inviting members of the local community to attend an upcoming information event to find out more about planned works\u00a0in and around\u00a0Cramond\u00a0Promenade\u00a0as part of its \u00a3500million Improving Urban Waters<\/a> programme.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Three storm overflows \u2013 Cramond House, Davidson\u2019s Mains and Cramond Wastewater Pumping Station (WWPS) will be upgraded in the \u00a38.6m\u00a0project and upgrading works will be carried out on the local sewer network.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The drop-in event will take place on Thursday 11 June 2026 at the Millennium Room, Cramond Kirk,\u00a016 Glebe Rd,\u00a0EH4 6NS\u00a0between 4pm and 6.30pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Members of the project team will be present to share information about the planned works and answer any questions.<\/p>\n

Scottish Water Senior Project Manager Ethan Gillies-Denning said:\u00a0 \u201cCramond is one of several communities where we are making significant investment within our Improving Urban Waters programme to improve the performance of the sewer network.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce completed, the new screened storm overflow will help manage the impacts of heavy rainfall and significantly reduce the number of\u00a0wet wipes and other sewer related debris getting into the Firth of Forth, enhancing the area for everyone and delivering long-term benefits to our customers\u00a0and the local environment.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Storm overflows are an essential\u00a0component\u00a0in Scotland\u2019s sewer network, designed to prevent\u00a0wastewater\u00a0from backing up and flooding homes and businesses during heavy rain.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d encourage anyone interested in finding out more to come along, speak to the team and ask any questions they may have.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The event offers an opportunity for people to learn more about the project, understand what to expect in their area, and speak directly with those delivering the work.\u00a0<\/p>\n
