(Image: Supplied)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The 1960s modernist building, designed by architect Peter Fogo, replaced an earlier Georgian mansion believed to have formed part of the historic Rosebery Estate.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The wider development will include a mix of three, four and five-bedroom homes set within more than two hectares of landscaped grounds.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Plans include converting the original modernist building into four large apartments while preserving key architectural elements, including its sculpted concrete panels.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The homes will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, private gardens and energy-efficient systems including air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and high insulation standards.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The site is located around 10 miles west of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/local-news\/edinburgh-news\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edinburgh<\/a> city centre and the first homes are expected to be completed later this year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Prices start at \u00a3680,000 for three-bedroom linked villas, while five-bedroom detached homes are being marketed from more than \u00a31.3 million.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A converted stable block on the estate is also being offered for more than \u00a3925,000.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Behnam Afshar, director of AMA New Homes, said: &#8220;The potential for an extraordinary development at Scotstoun was immediately obvious and we are immensely proud of the way in which we are reinventing this special space.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;We have brought together the site\u2019s heritage and contemporary design to create the blueprint for a truly sustainable development of outstanding, unapologetically modern homes.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Tony Kettle, architect at The Kettle Collective, said: &#8220;Our task was to convert and revitalise this modernist gem while celebrating the site\u2019s heritage.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;The original sculpted concrete panels will be retained, while a floating roofline forms a continuous clerestory window beneath, an enduring hallmark of modernist design.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Q Gardens in South Queensferry.
