Zian Flemming has emerged as a target for Coventry City as they plan to rival Leeds United<\/a> in their pursuit of the striker this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a strong season for Burnley despite their relegation and could remain in the top flight with a new club when the transfer window opens.<\/p>\n

He has found the net ten times this term for the relegated side and, having proven himself at this level, is seen as an upgrade on Coventry\u2019s current options.<\/p>\n

Former Coventry assistant manager Mick Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> that Frank Lampard is keen to add players with Premier League experience to his squad.<\/p>\n

Flemming would tick a number of boxes for the Sky Blues, and is also part of Leeds\u2019 transfer plans<\/a>, with Daniel Farke\u2019s side keen on signing the forward.<\/p>\n

Could Coventry rival Leeds United to sign Zian Flemming?<\/p>\n

Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> on 12 May that Leeds are plotting a move for Flemming<\/a> and scouts have been impressed by his displays in the top flight.<\/p>\n

Ahead of their promotion to the Premier League, Lampard is keen to add quality and experience to his squad, and Flemming could be a key target.<\/p>\n

\u201cFlemming could be a good option for Coventry,\u201d Brown told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThey know they have to strengthen their squad if they want to compete in the Premier League, so they have to look at players who are proven at this level.<\/p>\n

\u201cFlemming has shown this season that he can perform in the top flight, he\u2019s got ten goals for Burnley even though they\u2019ve been relegated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think a new striker is something Coventry are looking into, because they\u2019re not convinced their current players are going to cut it in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, they\u2019re not going to be the only people looking at Flemming, but that\u2019s the market they have to be shopping in this summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they can sign the best players from relegated Premier League teams, that will already put them in a good position to stay up.\u201d<\/p>\n

What would Flemming\u2019s arrival mean for Coventry\u2019s strikers?<\/p>\n

Coventry have set their sights on a deal for Flemming amid concerns about their current attacking options as they aim to strengthen their squad.<\/p>\n

Lampard and his recruitment team are considering a number of options for the position, while it could also mean players are allowed to leave the CBS Arena.<\/p>\n

Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> last month that Coventry could accept offers for Haji Wright<\/a>, with West Ham believed to be among a number of admirers.<\/p>\n

There is a feeling that the striker plays his best football at Championship level and could struggle in the Premier League, with a replacement likely to be brought in.<\/p>\n

Any deal for Flemming or another top-class striker could see Wright leave Coventry despite what has been a productive season as he led the Sky Blues to promotion.<\/p>\n
