Manchester City<\/a> is to open its own pub inside a historic city centre<\/a> venue which will be named after two of its biggest players ahead of their exit from the club at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The legendary Star & Garter venue, on Fairfield Street opposite Piccadilly Station, will be renamed The Stones & Silva for four days next week as part of an opportunity for fans to recognise and honour the careers of John Stones<\/a> and Bernardo Silva<\/a>, who have played together as part of the squad for close to a decade.<\/p>\n

Running from May 21 to 24, the themed pub <\/a>will be decked out with club memorabilia and d\u00e9cor inspired by the pair\u2019s \u2018unforgettable moments\u2019 at the club ahead of their exit. The pub will operate on a first come, first serve basis for fans throughout its four days and people have been advised to prepare for big queues.<\/p>\n

The Stones & Silva will be open from 4pm to 12pm next Thursday and Friday, whilst it will open up for visitors from 12pm to 11pm on May 23 and from 12pm to 8pm on its last day (May 24).<\/p>\n

As an added bonus for fans, the first 100 people through the door each day will also receive a complimentary beer courtesy of Asahi. Announcing the plans for the pop-up pub, Manchester City said: \u201cDon\u2019t miss this unique opportunity to raise a glass to two of our most popular players of modern times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Centre-back Stones first joined City back in 2016 and announced last month he would be leaving at the end of the season<\/a> after saying ‘every dream has been smashed out of the park’. It has since been reported that both Everton and Juventus are said to be considering signing him.<\/p>\n

Midfielder and captain Silva also announced last month<\/a> that he would leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season after nine years with the Blues. In a statement at the time, the 31-year-old, who is also being reportedly eyed up by Juventus, said he would remain \u2018a Man City supporter for life\u2019, and urged the club to \u2018fight for what this season still brings us\u2019.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday night (May 13), Silva earned particular praise<\/a> from manager Pep Guardiola for his performance following a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. Guardiola also applauded the midfielder\u2019s ‘defensive intuition’ following City’s match against Brentford earlier in the month.<\/p>\n

As part of the club\u2019s farewell celebrations for both Stones and Silva, the squad were recently also treated to a chippy supper at the Etihad Stadium courtesy of Swinton<\/a> favourites Sykes Fish and Chips bar. The two players, alongside the likes of Phil Foden, Antoine Semenyo, and Nico Gonz\u00e1lez, were seen posing with chip shop staff as owners said it had been ‘an hour to keep serving the very best’.<\/p>\n
