Supervised by Chabad of Tokyo’s Chief Rabbi Mendi Sudakevich, this establishment follows the closure of the long-standing Chana’s Place. David’s Deli essentially replaces Chana’s as the only kosher restaurant in Tokyo, offering a refreshed and expanded menu just a short distance from its predecessor’s location.

A Fusion of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Japanese Flavors

David’s Deli presents a diverse menu that blends Mediterranean and Middle Eastern classics with Japanese-inspired dishes. Patrons can enjoy sandwiches featuring tuna, salmon, omelette, chicken schnitzel, chicken pargiot, and falafel served in pita, as well as hamburgers accompanied by fries. The Japanese offerings include beef ramen with rich umami broth, yakisoba noodles with vegetable, egg, or chicken, grilled yakitori, and crispy fried chicken.

Middle Eastern favorites are well-represented, with options like hummus, shawarma, chicken and beef kebabs, and the Buskara Asado—a flavorful pulled beef dish. Appetizers such as Thai-style summer rolls, Nepalese momo dumplings, samosas, and sigar pastries add to the eclectic selection.

Fresh Salads and Light Bites

For lighter fare, the deli offers a variety of salads, including garden salad, spicy carrot salad, Mediterranean quinoa, couscous, coleslaw, and cabbage salad.
