Liam Lawson has highlighted the fine margin between success and failure currently in Formula 1, with qualifying closer than ever.\u00a0<\/p>\n
For several years, the first part of qualifying was typically the most underwhelming, with the same names eliminated in each grand prix.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, Q1 has now become one of the most exciting parts of a grand prix Saturday, due to the current unpredictable nature of who will be eliminated.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, Lawson has exited in the first stage of qualifying on three occasions this season, however, the Racing Bulls driver has pointed to the staggering difference finding two-tenths of a second can make.<\/p>\n
“It’s never much at the moment with how F1 one is this year,” Lawson told select media in Miami, including RacingNews365,<\/strong> when discussing how tight Q1 has been this season.<\/p>\n “The difference between one or two-tenths can knock you out of Q1 or put you in Q3, which is really, really tough, but it’s what’s making the racing quite exciting as well.”<\/p>\n It has already been an extremely challenging campaign for Lawson, without even taking his three Q1 exits into account, after being demoted from Red Bull to Racing Bulls after two races.\u00a0<\/p>\n Readjusting to racing for the sister team has taken Lawson time. He is yet to score a point in 2025, one of five drivers in this category.<\/p>\n Despite the tough start, he is finally beginning to feel comfortable in the Racing Bulls package, just leaving understanding new circuits as his main problem.<\/p>\n “I felt really comfortable in Jeddah,” added Lawson. “I felt comfortable in Bahrain as well, honestly.\u00a0<\/p>\n “So I think on that side, comfort-wise, I’m in the area.
