The department store chain has unveiled a new own-brand caf\u00e9 and restaurant concept, Platter John Lewis, as part of a multi-million pound investment to its in-store dining experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The new concept will replace the long-standing The Place To Eat brand across 32 caf\u00e9s, including at the branch in Liverpool ONE which will be undergoing a caf\u00e9 refurbishment next year. An exact date for the change has not yet been set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Refurbishment work has already started in three other <a aria-label=\"John Lewis Link opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/john-lewis\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">John Lewis <\/a>stores, with Chichester, Reading and Oxford Street the first branches to undergo investment. The first refurbished spaces will reopen from this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">All 32 <a aria-label=\"caf\u00e9s Link opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/new-aigburth-japanese-cafe-opening-33941542\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">caf\u00e9s <\/a>will be refurbished and rebranded by the end of 2027.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CGI image of the new Platter cafe with a large bakery sign and glass counters \" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0_image-1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p aria-label=\"Platter John Lewis will replace The Place To Eat brand across 32 cafes\" class=\"ImageCaption_caption-title__ccyQU\" data-testid=\"caption-title\">Platter John Lewis will replace The Place To Eat brand across 32 cafes(Image: John Lewis)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">John Lewis has partnered with hospitality specialist Benugo to transform and operate the new restaurants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The partnership builds on an existing ten-year relationship with Benugo, which already runs caf\u00e9s under its own name in 10 John Lewis shops.Platter John Lewis will sit alongside the retailer\u2019s wider hospitality offer, which includes Benugo, Ori caf\u00e9s, Huffkins tea rooms, Jamie Oliver Cafe and Kamakura at Oxford Street in London.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">While offering a refreshed menu, John Lewis has said that Platter will retain &#8220;customer favourites&#8221;, as well as My John Lewis membership offers such as free hot drinks and cake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The investment forms part of John Lewis\u2019 \u00a3800m multi-year investment in its brand, stores and customer experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The scale of refurbishment will vary by shop, with London&#8217;s Oxford Street branch to see the most extensive changes. The Oxford Street restaurant will reopen in early August as the flagship Platter John Lewis, following a thirteen-week transformation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Katie Papakonstantinou, Director of Services &amp; Hospitality for John Lewis, said: \u201cCustomers are spending more time in our shops, and food and drink is an increasingly important part of that experience. Platter John Lewis will give customers a more modern, welcoming place to pause, meet and enjoy something delicious while they shop.\u201cThis is an exciting investment in our hospitality offer and an important part of how we\u2019re making John Lewis shops even better places to visit.
