Over the 3 weeks, PoWEr Pack brought learning to life through real-world engagement with industry professionals and transferable skills development.

Throughout the programme, students took part in a series of interactive challenges, supported by guest speakers and business buddies from over nine organisations across multiple sectors such as Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, Tetra Tech, Liverpool John Moores University, Weightmans LLP, the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, and the British Army, who offered students advice and guidance.

PoWEr Pack is designed to be about more than employability; it works to unlock potential and open up opportunities. Students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, build their communication and teamwork skills and develop the confidence to express their ideas.

PoWEr Pack finished in a live showcase event, where students worked in teams to present solutions and ideas around real-world challenges they each selected. They were encouraged to be themselves, resulting in a diverse range of performances from presentations and role plays to debates and even a passionately written poem, all delivered in front of an audience of over 100 people.

The panel of judges included the likes of Major Joe Collins of the British Army and Claire Blott, Assistant Director of Strategy and Policy at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. At the showcase event, Simone Roche MBE, Founder and CEO of We Are PoWEr, gave an update on the social value of PoWEr Pack which has grown to £15.6k of social value created through the community.

The feedback received so far continues to highlight the importance of PoWEr Pack, with 97% of students saying they benefited from the PoWEr Pack programme and 95% reporting they had developed new skills as a result of their participation.

Simone Roche MBE, Founder and CEO of We Are PoWEr said, “What can I say, these students have absolutely blown me away and surpassed everything we could have hoped for. Watching these students step onto that stage with confidence, authenticity and purpose made me incredibly proud. PoWEr Pack is about far more than presentations, it’s about giving young people the space to find their voice, build real-world skills and realise their potential.

“Programmes like this are the future of education and early careers. When we move beyond traditional methods and create opportunities for young people to collaborate, think critically and be themselves, we see them truly thrive.”

PoWEr Pack has also created meaningful connections between education and industry. Business buddies and guest speakers played a vital role in mentoring and supporting students, while also gaining valuable insight into the aspirations, perspectives and potential of this young talent.

We Are PoWEr is looking ahead with ambition and continuing to expand PoWEr Pack and work alongside education providers and employers to build a more inclusive, connected, and future-ready workforce.

To learn more about PoWEr Pack and how to get involved, visit: https://wearepower.net/power-pack.

Why not follow Birkenhead News on Facebook, Bluesky, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Threads. You can also send story ideas or letters to the editor to news@birkenhead.news

PoWEr Collective CIC, part of We Are PoWEr, has successfully delivered its latest PoWEr Pack programme in partnership…

[8815
748,393,4884,179,16,15
0":"post-960785","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-liverpool","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-england","10":"tag-great-britain","11":"tag-liverpool","12":"tag-uk","13":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
