With Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano, two FC Bayern professionals are also in Didier Deschamps\u2018 final squad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The French national team coach presented his 26-man squad for the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada on Thursday evening. As expected, the \u00c9quipe Tricolore will be led by superstar Kylian Mbapp\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the Real Madrid star, Ousmane Demb\u00e9l\u00e9, D\u00e9sir\u00e9 Dou\u00e9 and Rayan Cherki are among the most prominent attacking names in the squad<\/p>\n<p>Olise crowns strong Bayern season<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1409611\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Michael-Olise-7.jpg\" title=\"Michael-Olise-7\" alt=\"Michael Olise\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\"\/>photo: IMAGO<\/p>\n<p>For Michael Olise in particular, the nomination is confirmation of an outstanding season at FC Bayern<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old was one of the absolute difference-makers in Munich and <a href=\"https:\/\/fcbinside.de\/2026\/05\/11\/grosse-ehre-fuer-olise-bayern-star-gewinnt-prestigetraechtigen-preis\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was recently named the best French player abroad by the French players\u2018 union UNFP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With his strong performances, Olise has finally played his way into the international elite \u2013 now he is set to lead France to the title at the World Cup<\/p>\n<p>Dayot Upamecano also received Didier Deschamps\u2018 vote of confidence, as expected. Despite minor injury problems this season, the central defender remains a permanent fixture in the French defense<\/p>\n<p>Surprise about Camavinga<\/p>\n<p>The absence of Eduardo Camavinga, on the other hand, is causing discussion<\/p>\n<p>The Real Madrid midfielder had recently been heavily tipped as a possible World Cup candidate, but did not make the final squad in the end<\/p>\n<p>Deschamps justified the decision with Camavinga\u2019s difficult season: \u201eHe is coming off a tough season with lots of injuries and not enough playing time.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>The French national coach also made it clear that the squad was not put together solely on the basis of individual quality: \u201eIt\u2019s about balance and combinations.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>France are among the top favorites<\/p>\n<p>In terms of individual quality, France is once again one of the top favorites for the World Cup title<\/p>\n<p>The Equipe Tricolore has enormous quality and depth, especially in attack<\/p>\n<p>Strikingly, only two current Bundesliga professionals, Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano, are in the French squad<\/p>\n<p>With a total of five players, PSG have the biggest block in the squad<\/p>\n<p>France start the tournament against Senegal on June 16, before facing Iraq and Norway in the group stage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"France, one of the big World Cup favorites, have announced their squad for the 2026 World Cup.
