Police in Edinburgh are continuing to investigate after a woman was robbed of her car at knifepoint<\/a> in a capital scheme.<\/p>\n

The incident<\/a> happened while the 22-year-old was parking her car behind a Scotmid store at Morvenside Close, in the Westburn area, at around 3.20pm on Tuesday, May 12. A man approached her, threatened her with a knife and demanded her keys.<\/p>\n

He got into the driver\u2019s seat as another man got into the passenger side and they drove off. The woman was not injured<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The car was recovered in Balfour Street in Leith around 12.30am on Thursday, May 14. Enquiries are ongoing to trace the two men.<\/p>\n

The suspects are described as white and of gaunt appearance. One was aged 30-40 years with a scruffy blonde beard. He was wearing a black tracksuit and baseball cap. The second man was wearing a navy tracksuit and a black balaclava.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Robert Wallace said: \u201cThankfully no one was injured but we need to trace the men responsible for this attack which left the woman frightened and very upset.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are asking anyone who saw the car from when it was driven off from Morvenside Close until it was found in Leith to get in touch.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease also make contact if you recognise the men responsible or know where they might be.\u201d<\/p>\n
