The fire starter on Emmerdale<\/a> may have been identified if fans are correct.<\/p>\n

Viewers think they have worked out who is behind it after a twist during Friday’s episode. Amid spoilers throwing four suspects into the mix, fans think it’s someone else.<\/p>\n

The theory suggests someone completely unexpected could be behind it all, while their motive could also be very clear. Matty Barton has now fallen under suspicion with viewers.<\/p>\n

Warning, this article contains a small spoiler about Friday’s episode that is now available to watch on ITVX<\/strong>. Friday’s episode revealed yet another fire as we saw the culprit in the act.<\/p>\n

This is the first time we’ve seen them, while we could not see who they were as their face was not on camera. Amid spoilers suggesting Ross Barton, Sam Dingle or Kammy Hadiq might be the arsonist, there was also a spoiler that suggested it could be returning character Kev Townsend.<\/p>\n

But what if it’s none of these characters? Fans now think Matty could be to blame as he mentioned having a day off, the same day a fire was started.<\/p>\n

Fans wondered if he could be avenging his mother Moira Dingle after she lost the farm and their home to the Tates, who then put Robert Sugden in charge. Robert and Joe Tate were involved in her being arrested too, which led to her being in prison.<\/p>\n

So is Matty taking revenge by starting the fires on Joe’s land and Robert’s farm? One fan theorised: “Matty cos he was mentioned as having the day off. Just a thought.”<\/p>\n

Another fan agreed: “Moira’s son,” as a third fan added: “I won’t be shocked if Aaron and Robert find out it’s Matty setting the fires.” Another fan said: “Anyone else wondering if it could be Matty starting the fires?<\/p>\n

“He’s someone we wouldn’t expect and he’s been working there which I thought was odd given the Moira betrayal so maybe he’s getting close to Robert and wanting access the farm to avenge what happened to her.” Other fans were sure it was Robert’s ex Kev.<\/p>\n

With Ross suggesting to Robert next week that Kev might be back for revenge, fans also believed this could be the case. One fan suggested online: “Kevin. They say he comes back.”<\/p>\n

Another echoed this saying: “It’s this Kev as in Robert’s prison husband,” while a third said: “It’s Kev.” One more viewer posted: “I think it was Kev,” as a final post said: “Kevin he is back.”<\/p>\n
