<\/p>\nGogglebox star Ken Harwood has passed away aged 77, it has been confirmed. The star and his wife, Anne, famously appeared on the show between 2020 and 2022, starring in five seasons.<\/p>\n
It has now been announced that the former postmaster died last week after a short illness, with show makers Studio Lambert sharing a statement.<\/p>\n
“Ken will be dearly missed by his wife Anne, sons Simon and Ross, daughter-in-law, Elle, grandchildren Freya and Tristram, and all who knew him,” it said.<\/p>\n

It has also been confirmed that a tribute will air, with the studio adding: “There will be a tribute to Ken at the end of Channel 4\u2019s episode on Gogglebox tonight.”<\/p>\n
Ken was born in County Durham in 1948 and worked for most of his life as a postmaster, later becoming a councillor before his retirement 13 years ago.<\/p>\n
On his debut appearance on Gogglebox six years ago, he notably presented Anne with a bouquet of roses, one for each of the 50 years they had been married.<\/p>\n
She quipped in return: “You’ve put me to shame now with a card and roses, and I got you nothing. But you have me and that\u2019s all you need.”<\/p>\n
The official Gogglebox account has paid tribute to Ken on Instagram<\/a>, calling him “a much-loved member of the Gogglebox family”, leading to a flood of supportive messages from fans.<\/p>\n “My condolences to Anne and the family they were a sweet couple on Gogglebox enjoyed watching them,” one wrote, with another adding: “Aww he was such a lovely gentleman sending much love to his beautiful wife Anne.”<\/p>\n “Ohhhhh bless you Ken. We loved watching you for al those years from Australia. Much love to all that adored him,” a third said in a comment.<\/p>\n A fourth wrote: “Oh Ken was lovely! My deepest sympathies to all who miss him and may he travel well,” while a fifth viewer shared: “Loved him so much. My condolences to Anne and family, rip ken.”<\/p>\n “Such sad news RIP Ken.
