The guests were insulted and beaten, and their passports were photographed. Katya herself was sentenced to\u00a0200 hours of\u00a0community service on\u00a0charges of\u00a0offending religious sensibilities, based on\u00a0a\u00a0cross-shaped lamp hanging in\u00a0the club.<\/li>\n<li>Russkaya Obshchina intervened in\u00a0a\u00a0domestic dispute in\u00a0the settlement of\u00a0Svetly in\u00a0the Novosibirsk Region. The conflict began after local teenagers beat a\u00a0boy from a\u00a0migrant family from Kyrgyzstan. After the beaten boy\u2019s parents spoke with one of\u00a0the teenagers, that teenager\u2019s mother contacted police and Russkaya Obshchina members, claiming the migrants had kidnapped her child and threatened to\u00a0kill\u00a0him. The family faced criminal prosecution but was protected by\u00a0other residents of\u00a0the settlement. After the incident, the family returned to\u00a0Bishkek.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__7aRnT  SimpleBlock-module_center__D1CsV\">Russkaya Obshchina was founded in\u00a02020 and describes itself as\u00a0an\u00a0environment \u201cfor uniting Russian people on\u00a0the principle of\u00a0mutual aid.\u201d It\u00a0now has more than a\u00a0hundred regional and city chapters across Russia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__7aRnT  SimpleBlock-module_center__D1CsV\">Unlike other nationalist organizations, Russkaya Obshchina fully supports the Russian government. It\u00a0backs the war in\u00a0Ukraine, cooperates with law enforcement and the Russian Orthodox Church, and its members file \u201cdenunciations\u201d en\u00a0masse.
