A man has died suddenly outside a supermarket in the South West.<\/p>\n

Paramedics were called to treat a man in Seaward Way, Minehead, in the early hours of Saturday morning (May 16).<\/p>\n

The South Western Ambulance Service called Avon and Somerset Police to the scene at around 5am after administering treatment to a man in his 30s.<\/p>\n

Tragically, despite the best efforts of emergency services personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that his death is currently being treated as unexplained, though it is not believed to be suspicious.<\/p>\n

The man has since been formally identified and his next of kin have been notified.<\/p>\n

A force spokesperson confirmed that an increased police presence would remain in the area throughout the day while further enquiries are conducted.<\/p>\n

Avon and Somerset Police said: “A scene is in place in Seaward Way, in Minehead, this morning (Saturday 16 May).<\/p>\n

“We were called just before 5am by the ambulance service who were administering treatment to a man in his thirties. Sadly, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.<\/p>\n

“Formal identification has taken place and his next of kin has been informed. Our thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time and they are being offered support.<\/p>\n

“Members of the public can expect to see a heightened police presence throughout the day while enquiries are carried out.<\/p>\n
