A second man has been arrested following a suspected \u2018hit-and-run\u2019 incident in Birmingham<\/a> which left a man with serious injuries in hospital.<\/p>\n A van is said to have hit a man in Mayfield Road in Stirchley<\/a> on Thursday (May 14) night.<\/p>\n The man, in his 30s, suffered leg injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains.<\/p>\n Read more: Two arrested before Unite the Kingdom rally<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Met Police arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of wounding in London on Saturday (May 16).<\/p>\n The Met Police initially said: \u201cOfficers have made two arrests in the vicinity of Euston station.<\/p>\n \u201cTwo men, wanted on suspicion of GBH following an incident in Birmingham where a man was run over, were spotted arriving in to London to attend the UTK protest.\u201d<\/p>\n But then issued an update and said: \u201cA correction on the post below.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the two men was arrested in connection with the incident in Birmingham where a man was run over as previously described.<\/p>\n \u201cThe second arrested man was wanted for a separate offence which involved encouraging people to attack a police officer.\u201d<\/p>\n Get breaking news on BirminghamLive WhatsApp<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n And now West Midlands Police<\/a> has confirmed it arrested a second man on suspicion of wounding.<\/p>\n The 52-year-old was arrested in Birmingham on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n Police said the van \u2018failed to stop at the scene\u2019 but was recovered nearby in Prince Road and is being forensically examined.<\/p>\n Met Police has also posted footage of the first arrest in London on its social media channel.<\/p>\n It said: \u201cA video of officers making an arrest near Euston earlier has been widely shared.<\/p>\n \u201cHere it is from the officers\u2019 perspective.<\/p>\n \u201cOne arrest in a crowd requires numerous officers and can involve unpredictable levels of physical and verbal resistance.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not as simple as many think.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more: West Midlands Police update after man arrested over Stirchley ‘hit and run’<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
