Police have provided an update on an investigation into an alleged hit-and-run incident in a city street\"Google<\/p>\n

A man arrested in London in connection with a hit-and-run offence in Birmingham<\/a> has been released on bail.<\/p>\n

A van is said to have struck a pedestrian, a man, in Mayfield Road in Stirchley<\/a> on Thursday (May 14) night.<\/p>\n

The victim in his 30s, suffered leg injuries following the incident after 10pm, and was taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

A 44-year-old man was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London on Saturday morning (May 16) on suspicion of wounding following the Stirchley collision, off Pershore Road.<\/p>\n

He was questioned by officers and released on police bail, \u2018with strict conditions\u2019,<\/p>\n

While a second man, a 52-year-old was arrested in Birmingham on Saturday, also on suspicion of wounding.<\/p>\n

He was said to be in custody on Sunday (May 17).<\/p>\n

Police had said: \u201cThe van failed to stop at the scene but was recovered on nearby Prince Road and is now being examined.\u201d<\/p>\n

The update from West Midlands Police<\/a> said: \u201cA second man arrested on suspicion of wounding following a collision involving a van and a pedestrian in Stirchley on Thursday remains in police custody today (Sunday).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 52-year-old was arrested on suspicion of wounding in Birmingham yesterday evening (Saturday) and remains in custody as our enquiries continue.<\/p>\n

\u201cA 44-year-old man arrested yesterday morning by the Met Police in London has been questioned and released on police bail, with strict conditions, while the investigation continues.<\/p>\n
