Reports have emerged that U.S. President Donald Trump once toured a Boeing 748 owned by the Qatar Royal Family<\/a> earlier this year after many delays for the brand-new presidential airplane. According to the report, the president met the plane in Palm Springs, Florida<\/a>.<\/p>\n The plane was a 12-year-old model that had previously served the Qatar royal family and then was operated by a company in the Isle of Man, according to two aviation websites. Trump’s Communications Director Steven Cheung, was quick to issue a statement about it.<\/p>\n “President Trump is touring a new Boeing plane to check out the new hardware\/technology,” he said. “This highlights the project’s failure to deliver a new Air Force One on time as promised.” During his previous administration, Trump had commissioned Boeing for a pair of new 747-8 aircraft; however, the project is several years behind schedule. Now, the airline company is saying that the project won’t be completed until 2027 or 2028, toward the end of Trump’s final term in office.<\/p>\n The news comes as Trump has been slammed for allegedly accepting a $400 million jet<\/a> from the ruling family of Qatar during his trip to the Middle East this coming week. Trump later took to his Truth Social platform to slam the naysayers.<\/p>\n “So the fact that the Defense Department is getting a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE, of a 747 aircraft to replace the 40-year-old Air Force One, temporarily, in a very public and transparent transaction, so bothers the Crooked Democrats that they insist we pay, TOP DOLLAR, for the plane. Anybody can do that! The Dems are World Class Losers!!! MAGA,” he posted.<\/p>\n Trump also slammed ABC News<\/a> when they attempted to ask the president about it. \u201cMr. President, what do you say to people who view that luxury jet as a personal gift<\/a> to you?\u201d an ABC reporter asked Trump<\/a>. \u201cWhy not leave it behind?\u201d They added.<\/p>\n It was then that Trump went on the offensive. \u201cYou\u2019re ABC fake news, right?\u201d Trump responded. \u201cWhy not leave it behind?\u201d the reporter asked again.<\/p>\n \u201cOnly ABC-well, a few of you would, let me tell you, you should be embarrassed asking that question,” Trump continued. They\u2019re giving us a free jet. I could say \u2018no, no, no\u2019 don\u2019t give us – I want to pay you a billion or 400 million\u2019 or whatever it is or I could say \u2018thank you very much\u2019 you know?”<\/p>\n Trump then went on an anecdote about a golfer named Sam Snead, addressing his reported motto, \u201cwhen they give you a put, you say thank you very much, you pick up your ball, and you walk to the next hole.\u201d Trump continued, “A lot of people are stupid, they say \u2018no, no, I insist on putting it\u2019 and then they put it and they miss it. And their partner gets angry at them.”<\/p>\n \u201cYou know what, remember that Sam Snead, when they give you a put you pick it up, you walk to the next hole, and you say \u2018Thank you very much,'” Trump continued.
