A nursery in Totterdown is celebrating after a positive Ofsted inspection, which praised its highly-inclusive environment.<\/p>\n

Mama Bear\u2019s Nursery on Wells Road was also declared to be performing to the expected standard in other key areas such as student behaviour and children\u2019s welfare<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are absolutely delighted with the positive feedback in our latest Ofsted report for Mama Bear’s Day Nursery,\u201d managing director Vicky Ashbolt said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe inspection is a real reflection of the dedication, passion and hard work of our whole team, who work tirelessly to create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can thrive.<\/p>\n

Mama Bear\u2019s runs 15 nurseries throughout the South West. Along with Totterdown, its other Bristol nurseries are in Clifton<\/a>, Downend, Whitchurch, Speedwell and Fishponds.<\/p>\n

Inspectors were particularly impressed with how the Totterdown nursery treated pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and for the close relationships staff formed with parents.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are especially proud that the report recognises the strong relationships staff build with children and families, and our commitment to helping every child feel happy, confident and supported in their learning and development,\u201d Ms Ashbolt said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to thank our wonderful staff, children and parents for their continued support \u2013 this achievement is something we are all incredibly proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n

The nursery\u2019s atmosphere was also given a glowing review by inspectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cGenerally, children enter this friendly and welcoming nursery and separate from their parents and carers with ease,\u201d the report said. \u201cStaff place an emphasis on helping new babies to settle, offering flexible settling-in sessions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis helps babies to form secure attachments with the adults caring for them. It also supports them to become confident and to feel safe and secure to begin their journey through the nursery.<\/p>\n

Mama Bear\u2019s Totterdown has been on something of a journey of improvement over its past few inspections. In 2021, it was given an overall rating of \u2018inadequate\u2019.<\/p>\n

This was upgraded to \u2018good\u2019 in 2022, the last time Ofsted visited prior to January\u2019s inspection.<\/p>\n

As of the start of this year, Ofsted no longer makes overall effectiveness judgements about educational settings, instead grading them based on their performance across multiple areas.<\/p>\n

Mama Bear\u2019s Day Nursery Totterdown has 79 places for children up to four years of age.
