Celtic have apologised to Hearts for the scenes at the end of the league showdown at Parkhead where The Hoops lifted the League title for the 56th time after a 3-1 win.<\/p>\n
Fans ran onto the pitch and that meant that the Tynecastle team could not salute their supporters who were positioned in a section of the stadium.<\/p>\n
The Men in Maroon left the stadium immediately while still in their kit and boarded their bus back to the Capital due to what the Edinburgh club called a \u201cmenacing and threatening atmosphere\u201d.<\/p>\n
And the Glasgow club\u2019s bosses say they will co-operate fully with any probe into the incident.<\/p>\n
The statement in full reads: \u201cEveryone at the Club congratulates Martin, our players and all our staff on delivering the club\u2019s 56th Scottish league title and a thrilling climax to the season backed by a magnificent support.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank Celtic fans for everything they have done to help the team over the line.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Club regrets that our victory over Hearts was followed by a number of individuals entering the field of play.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe again emphasise that there is no justification for this behaviour which, for the vast majority of Celtic supporters, only detracts from the joy of such occasions.<\/p>\n
\u201cCeltic will co-operate fully with any investigation and with the SPFL in their own processes.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also apologise to Hearts for the situation encountered by their players and staff at the conclusion of the game, and for the fact that these events prevented them from saluting their own supporters at the end of an enthralling campaign, to which they have contributed so much.\u201d<\/p>\n
