Spectators were barred from Monday’s practice rounds at the PGA Championship as severe weather hit Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.<\/p>\n

The PGA of America announced the full closure of the grounds to fans due to expected thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n

Up to two inches of rain was forecast for Monday, prompting officials to take precautionary measures.<\/p>\n

The second men’s major championship of the year is still scheduled to begin on Thursday as planned, with players permitted to practice despite the closure to spectators.<\/p>\n

Weather forecasts indicate rain and thunderstorms may continue into Tuesday, with showers also possible on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

From Wednesday onwards, Quail Hollow is expected to receive lower rainfall as conditions gradually improve.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s final round is anticipated to be warm and dry, according to forecasts.<\/p>\n

The main competition is scheduled to take place from 15-18 May, with the opening round beginning at approximately 7 a.m. on Thursday.<\/p>\n
