Liverpool<\/a> are plotting a move to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries to solve their right-back situation, sources have told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 30-year-old has emerged on Arne Slot\u2019s list of targets for the summer transfer window, with the Reds having been long-term admirers of him.<\/p>\n

Inter could be powerless to keep hold of the Netherlands international as he has a \u00a321.8million release clause which becomes active throughout the month of July.<\/p>\n

Liverpool have had issues at right-back this season, with the club failing to find a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold and multiple injury concerns.<\/p>\n

Dumfries has long been admired by a number of Premier League clubs, with both Man City and Man United having expressed an interest in the last year.<\/p>\n

However, Liverpool are now planning to move ahead of their rivals in the race and see his release clause as affordable, and could move to trigger it in July.<\/p>\n

This comes after Slot confessed he is planning to be busy in the transfer market after what has been a disappointing season as he aims to assess key areas of his squad.<\/p>\n
