<\/p>\nNottingham Forest and England star Elliot Anderson is a target for both Manchester City and Manchester United in this summer’s transfer window<\/p>\n

Roy Keane has lauded Elliot Anderson as the Nottingham Forest star continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n Anderson is high on United’s shortlist this summer, but Manchester City<\/a> are currently in pole position to sign him, even though Forest have placed a \u00a3100million price tag on him. Since joining Forest from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024, the 23-year-old has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n Anderson is also expected to start for England at this summer’s World Cup, and Keane said on Sky Sports: “He’s done very well getting into the squad and the team.<\/p>\n Click here<\/a> to find out the latest Manchester United news in our daily newsletter<\/strong><\/p>\n “Every time the England manager has spoken about him he’s spoken very highly of him. He’s had a big impact and some of the England games can be easy, but they can be a test for a player because you can overthink it and try too hard.<\/p>\n “But he has settled very well into that international fold and he will be a cert to go in the squad and starting 11.”<\/p>\n Keane, speaking ahead of United\u2019s win over Forest, added: “Sometimes with experience you can try too hard and when the team is in trouble, but that is where the experience will kick in \u2013 when to sit and when to start chasing people.”<\/p>\n Asked about Anderson before his side\u2019s win 3-2 at Old Trafford<\/a>, Michael Carrick<\/a> said: “Yeah, he’s done well. I think he’s a big part of their team.<\/p>\n “I think he offers so much, and they’ve got a really talented team and dangerous team. So they’ve had a good season to get to the [Europa League<\/a>] semi-finals and just fall short. But yeah, you can see obviously he is important part of their team.”<\/p>\n Elliot Anderson in action against Manchester United<\/p>\n Offering advice to Anderson last month, former Man City<\/a> midfielder Gareth Barry said: “I think he needs to look at his game time.<\/p>\n “If it were me personally and I were Elliott Anderson, then I would be looking at my game time.<\/p>\n “If Rodri stays at Manchester City<\/a>, then he probably has less chance of playing as many games, although he would still get game time.<\/p>\n “But I would be looking at stuff like that, as he is still a young player, and he will want to be playing games.<\/p>\n “I’m an ex-Man City player, so I am not going to push any player to go to Man United<\/a>, but I would be looking at who is going to be around and who I am going to be competing against.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0_GettyImages-2276123490.jpg\")
