Sam Allardyce<\/a> has urged former club Leeds<\/a> to spend big to survive in the Premier League<\/a> next season.<\/p>\n

Leeds have returned to the top flight for the first time in two seasons<\/a>, having won the Championship title<\/a>. But Daniel Farke is expected to make wholesale changes to his squad as he looks to strengthen this summer.<\/p>\n

Leeds have been linked with a host of possible targets, including Southampton<\/a> goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, Manchester City<\/a> midfielder Kalvin Phillips and Everton<\/a> striker Beto.<\/p>\n

And Allardyce reckons the Yorkshire club have to think big, to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.<\/p>\n

He believes Leeds should make a move for former England striker Jamie Vardy, who is leaving Leicester at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The former England, Newcastle and Bolton boss told the Footy Accumulators <\/a>‘No Tippy Tappy Football podcast’: “If you\u2019re going to play tippy tappy football, you’re not going to pay to his [Vardy’s] strengths.<\/p>\n

“Because he runs in behind better than anybody else, so you can’t be playing it into his feet because it’s not his strength.<\/p>\n

“However, recruitment will be the hardest problem because there are not enough players available worldwide to keep you in the Premier League, especially goal scorers and frontmen.<\/p>\n

“That’s why Vardy might be a valuable commodity, because there’s not a great bunch of them worldwide anymore.<\/p>\n

“You can’t keep going out for those \u00a34million signings. Somewhere along the lines Leeds are going to have to spend.<\/p>\n
