On Saturday he rolled along in front of the field in the $500,000 The Coast and his early and mid-sectionals were both quicker than the benchmark for that class of race over the 1600m trip. Although Townsend weakened in the straight his last 400m sectional was still only a length slower off the benchmark and there is plenty of scope for improvement. His two best runs last preparation were third and fourth-up, finishing third in the ATC Cup (2000m) at Rosehill and a similar placing in the Summer Cup at Randwick. No idea where Townsend heads next but the stable is one of the best in the business at placing their horses and I want to be on wherever his upcoming runs are. Career statistics (10:2-1-4).

Know Thyself makes it four on the trot and wins The Coast! ????@AshMorgan6 | @Paulmessara | @LGavranichpic.twitter.com/UpqfNMhL8v

— SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) May 10, 2025

■ ■ ■ ■ ■

CAULFIELD – Aaron Mills

JENNI’S MEADOW – A Queensland Oaks nomination hints at a possible trip north in the weeks ahead but wherever Jenni’s Meadow shows up next, she should be hard to beat. Resuming after a Group 1 placing in New Zealand, Josh Parr settled Bosustow midfield five lengths away off a strong tempo to the 800m before being held up as they straightened. The leaders got the stitch below the 300m, the split appeared and Bosustow dashed through quickly putting a gap on them and winning as he liked.
