Farah Kawal was 22 when she opened Toddler\u2019s Den in Bordesley Green<\/a> in July 2020, making her one of the youngest nursery<\/a> owners in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n At the time, people heaped praise onto the entrepreneur on social media saying ‘well done girl, be proud of yourself<\/a>‘, ‘good to see young people doing well, it\u2019s been hard on them’ and ‘I like the idea of a younger director’.<\/p>\n She started off with just three children and is now at full capacity with 26 preschoolers, 14 toddlers and five babies.<\/p>\n What’s more, Toddler’s Den<\/a> has been named as one of the top 20 nurseries in Birmingham by DayNurseries.co.uk<\/a>, said to be the UK’s most comprehensive nursery directory featuring more than 14,000 nurseries and nursery schools across the country.<\/p>\n Read more: Best soft play centres in Birmingham<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Read next: Best adventure playgrounds in and around Birmingham<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The nursery got an overall review score of 10 (9.986) out of 10, based on 18 reviews in the last two years and has received 50 reviews in total.<\/p>\n “It makes it even more special that it has come from reviews from parents,” said Farah.<\/p>\n “All the comments and the recommendations from parents have been amazing, saying how well their child has settled in, how well they are progressing, how they have felt so safe, how they find it so welcoming.<\/p>\n “Day Nurseries said you have had such amazing feedback from parents, you should be very proud of yourselves.”<\/p>\n Photo story: Toddler’s Den Nursery in Bordesley Green – in pictures<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n More than 300 West Midland nurseries are featured on the Day Nurseries website as it includes Warwickshire<\/a>, Stoke, the Black Country and Derbyshire.<\/p>\n Toddler’s Den, on Towpath Close, runs lots of different activities, giving children the chance to experience things they might not experience at home. Find out more here<\/a><\/p>\n “As it’s been sunny, we had an ice cream van and gave each child some change so they could go and buy their own ice cream from the van. It was so touching to see as many of them had never done that before.<\/p>\n “We also had a water fight, which they loved, and a pizza party.<\/p>\n “It’s about parents too. We held a Mother’s Day workshop where we had all the mums and some single dads too because not everyone has a mother.<\/p>\n “We took pictures, they relaxed, did some drawing and colouring, chatted with other mums. She said: “Some people still say you’re such a baby, you’re so young.<\/p>\n “When I opened, there were just three children. We’re now at full capacity with 26 preschoolers, 14 toddlers and five babies.<\/p>\n “More places will become available in July and September when the children start school.<\/p>\n “One girl has been with us right from day one and is moving to school this year. She’s experienced every aspect of the nursery and has a special place in my heart. I will miss her when she goes.<\/p>\n
